Leila Zubi has extensive experience in corporate and international law, advocacy, conflict resolution, and bilateral/multilateral negotiations for foreign government clients. Leila represents individual clients and U.S. and foreign business entities in commercial, finance, technology, e-commerce, real estate, entertainment, healthcare, and the arts on a broad range of transactions. Leila provides legal counsel to foreign governments and handles all legal matters pertaining to international law, including international treaties, human rights, diplomatic privileges and immunities, conflicts of law, non-recognition of states, and host country relations.
Leila develops cross-border deals by bringing together buyers and sellers and offering legal and business counsel in trade, banking and contract matters. Her experience includes working with foreign suppliers and manufacturers in the areas of crude oil, textiles, clothing, and pre-fabricated housing design and construction.
From 2000 – 2003, Leila worked as a Corporate Associate at Herrick, Feinstein, LLP. Prior to attending law school, from 1993-1997, she was the Manager of International Client Relations at Herrick, Feinstein, LLP, where she developed strategic business opportunities for the firm’s international litigation practice group by preparing written marketing materials and attending international conferences, symposia and meetings with foreign government officials, private sector representatives and journalists in connection with art law cases.
Leila is a 2000 graduate of Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law where she was the Editor-in-Chief of the Cardozo Journal of Conflict Resolution. She received her Master of Arts degree in Near Eastern Studies from New York University in 1992 where she was the recipient of the Ettinghausen Fellowship. She graduated from Fordham University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Economics. She is fluent in Turkish. |
